We’d be very surprised if you haven’t heard of IDIOCRACY. It’s a very funny/stoopid film made as a joke about a far off dystopian future. Yet, as another example of life imitating art, it has since somehow… weirdly.. turned into a documentary rather than a movie. AND! Some say it’s the reason Crocs were made!
TANK GIRL is OG 90s Hollywood box office flop turned cult hero. Originally a comic book from the hand of GORILLAZ artist Jamie Hewlett it was turned into a film about a dystopian future were water has become a rare resource and of course the corporations have taken control of it. So Tank Girl (Lori Petty – A League of Their Own) and Jet Girl (our very own Naomi Watts) join forces with The Rippers to battle it out with the evil overlords.
To wrap up the night we have WHEELS OF FIRE. Directed by Cirio H. Santiago and financed by Roger Corman this absolutely insane balls to the wall, explosion a minute, 80s Philipino Mad Max is just something that needs to be witnessed. And it’s 10 bucks a ticket.
